Senate Judiciary Committee to consider AMNESTY for 10 million-plus on Thursday

Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA), has just
unveiled his
immigration proposal that will be the vehicle for the Senate's answer to the tough
enforcement-only
bill passed by the House in December.
First media reports said Specter was taking the middle ground between the
open-borders types
(like Sen. McCain and Sen. Kennedy) and the enforcement types. But this is no middle
ground. It is
possible that Specter's bill is even worse than the McCain/Kennedy open-borders
bill. In fact, it
appears to be an absolute joke -- a cruel, sadistic joke.
The NumbersUSA Capitol Hill Team members were at their desks all weekend analyzing
the hundreds
of pages of the bill to get a clear assessment of what it would do. You can read
our comparison of
the Specter proposal with the strong House-passed, enforcement-only bill, H.R. 4437
online here:
http://www.numbersusa.com/PDFs/Sensenbr ... pecter.pdf .
The Specter bill would:
* Grant amnesty to nearly all the 12-20 million illegal aliens in the country
* Open up every job in America to competition from unlimited numbers of foreign
guest workers each year.
* Eliminate math and science professions as jobs for American students to pursue
because it
provides for an unlimited number of foreign math and science students to permanently
take U.S. jobs each year.
* Almost double the numbers of foreign workers and
their families who get permanent residency each year,
adding nearly a million a year to our already
over-congested communities.
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT SENATE OFFICES BE INUNDATED WITH FAXES BEFORE SENATE
COMMITTEE CONSIDERATION BEGINS ON THURSDAY
We must let these Senators know that the Specter bill is so outrageous that we can't
imagine any
Senator even giving it a second glance. It should be dismissed outright, and
Specter be asked to
come back later with a serious bill.

Let me make this clear to every one of you: EVERY SINGLE FAX MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE.
And, of
course, your main satisfaction has to be that you are part of a giant team whose
individual actions
add up to something you could never imagine accomplishing on your own.
THANK YOU FOR HELPING US STOP THIS AMNESTY IN ITS TRACKS.

I got this message this morning as well as one of the same some time yesterday. I can't even access the Numbers site-- no matter how many times I've tried. And FAIR is pretty well tied up, too.
But, I was flipping through channels yesterday and one station said that they will have a weekly meeting to discuss HR 4437 and any amnesty amendments and the actual bill will be voted on the Senate floor on March 27.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
