Poland deports illegal alien cows

Warsaw- Among deportations of illegal aliens, it is an unusual case to say the least. Poland on Thursday began deporting a herd of illegal alien cows that cleverly breached the European Union's eastern frontier by swimming the Bug river from Belarus to Poland.

"These are young animals, calves from 14-18 months old," state veterinarian for Poland's Biala Podlaska district Radomir Banko told the Polish PAP news agency.

"They're in good shape and on Thursday will be trucked across the border and given back to their owners," he said. The runaway herd numbered 240 cows.

It remained a mystery why the cows decided to swim across the broad and dangerous Bug river from Belarus to Poland on Sunday afternoon.

Polish border guards and veterinary officials had tried, but failed, to persuade the animals to swim back home.

I've got several Mexican Garden Spiders colonizing in my yard. Any ideas? Box them up and mail them to Vicente Fox? I've tried talking to them explaining how much nicer Mexico is for them, but like the cows, they've totally ignored me.

You might want to check them out since they are probably coming to a place near you. They are very large spiders, yellow with black stripes. They like making their gigantic webs over windows. I'm not sure what ecological effect they will have. They probably eat Lady Bugs.

These cows are lucky they were in Poland. If they had been trying to cross our southern border they would have been a Bar-B-Q.
