Pres. Obama To This Spring's American College Grads -- WE DON'T NEED YOU

While America's kids prepare for their college graduation events, Pres. Obama laid out an immigration blueprint in El Paso for making it much more difficult for them to find jobs. When it comes to unemployed Americans, Pres. Obama always gives higher priority to foreign workers.

Can you imagine forcing the college grads to compete for jobs with 400,000 additional college grads from around the world?

Our President can.

Along with his speech, he issued his "Building a 21st Century Immigration System" report that primarily calls for increasing U.S. work permits for foreign workers of all kinds by massive amounts.

The President's immigration report reads as if it were written during a time of full employment, instead of during the fourth year of an unemployment crisis.

The insensitivity toward new college grads -- and their parents -- is especially telling.

Unemployment among American college graduates of all ages for nearly three years has been double what it was during the previous decade -- and brand new grads face much worse odds. But Pres. Obama does not believe these grads are competing with enough people in the jobs lines.

He decries the fact that we "force" 400,000 foreign citizens each year to return home after they graduate from U.S. colleges. He says we need them here. Can you imagine how much worse life would be for our own kids if they had another 400,000 competitors in the job market EACH YEAR? That would be 4 million more competitors each decade.

Of course, Pres. Obama's speech today and his blueprint make no policy sense because they aren't about policy. Rather, they are just part of a political campaign to convince pro-amnesty voters that Pres. Obama is not the reason that amnesty doesn't have a chance over the next two years before the 2012 elections.

Still, the President's continuing insensitivity to the 22 million Americans who can't find a full-time job is disheartening. And his political cynicism is extraordinary.

His blueprint plays about as much to the worst of corporate lobbyists' greed as did Pres. Bush's blueprint before him.

What we have learned during this Jobs Depression is that when it comes to Robber Baron lobbyists and the politicians who work for them, no amount of unemployment is ever too high and no amount of wage depression is ever too severe to stop the calls for more foreign labor.
