Raise your voice now and ask Senator Hutchison to raise hers as well!

    Take Action

    Dear xxxx:

Did you know your senator could be a key player in moving immigration reform forward this year?

In order for immigration reform legislation to be introduced in the Senate this year, the bill must be bipartisan and right now we need to see more Republican support. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison is one of those Republicans who, by showing her support, could make it happen.

Raise your voice now and ask Senator Hutchison to raise hers as well!

Texas, just like the rest of the country, needs comprehensive immigration reform. Today, nearly four million people in Texas are immigrants, and an estimated 1,450,000 immigrants in Texas are undocumented. They contribute not only to the state's diversity and economy, but also to its legacy as a welcoming environment for immigrants.

The immigration enforcement practices of the past administration, pursued to this day by the Obama administration, continue to tear Texas's families apart. Unprecedented numbers of immigrants are imprisoned in a network of detention centers across the country, and a greater number are deported on a daily basis. Worksite enforcement outside of a reformed immigration system has led to undocumented workers being fired through I-9 audits, affecting business owners and workers alike, as well as negatively impacting local economies that are already hurting from the state's budget crisis and 8.3% unemployment rate.

Sign this petition and show Senator Hutchison that Texas can wait no longer!

    Sincerely,

    Ellie Klerlein

Everyone should be calling the illegal alien softy.

The immigration enforcement practices of the past administration, pursued to this day by the Obama administration, continue to tear Texas's families apart.
    Spare me.
The law is not to blame for this. The people accountable for their family dynamics are the people who broke the law and had children.

Will send this to Sen. Hutchinson as well,

    Dear Sen. Hutchinson,

With Democrat leaders once again striving to bring a so-called immigration bill up before Congress I think it is important to remember certain things that affect this all-important issue.

    1. The Administration has FAILED in its promise to first secure our borders. Statements by the Department of Homeland Security earlier this year revealed that the electronic surveillance measure were several years away from operability. Other areas of immigration enforcement have been fiscally reduced.

    2. Lax immigration policies have proved so disastrous that the public in states like Arizona and California have approved of local measures to curb illegal immigration. Voters are only trying to bring their state policies in line with federal law---and a reversal of our federal law would completely upset the will of the people in these states.

    3. Drug traffickers, human smugglers, document forgers and even drug cartel criminals continue to make their way over the US border. An amnesty of illegal aliens, which is only playing upon the compassionate nature of Americans, will certainly sent out a WELCOME signal to other law-less types to come here.

    4. A previous amnesty in 1986 was supposed to be the end-all of illegal immigration. It had just the opposite effect.

    5. Amnestied aliens would, after a time, be legally allowed to sponsor their relatives to move here. Our entitlements system is already overburdened with far too many people who have not contributed to the US economy through employment, yet are being supported with US taxpayers. The US is projected to have 16 million foreign born SSI recipients by 2050 ---usually disabled or elderly and most never even having worked in this country.

Senator, we know these people are not stupid and that they will seek out loopholes to benefit themselves. A fair number of them have already committed fraud to obtain certain financial benefits. Any amnesty legislation would certainly be open to more fraud---and it would be nearly impossible to distinguish new arrivals seeking to qualify from those intended to be covered.

Despite what pressures you may encounter please do not surrender to this very ill conceived move to amnesty illegal aliens.

    Yours truly,
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
