Special message for NumbersUSA members in Texas.
From: NumbersUSA
Date: April 7, 2009 12 PM
This is a special message for NumbersUSA members in Texas.
Dear Texas friends,
The Immigration Reform Coalition of Texas (IRCOT) has issued an urgent request for assistance in getting the Chairman of the House State Affairs Committee (Burt Solomons) to schedule a vote on important immigration-reduction bills before April 10. Solomons has said his committee will not take up immigration-related bills until April 21 or 28th, which is too late in the session for the bills to stand a chance at passage.
All Texas NumbersUSA members are asked to call, email and fax Solomons as soon as possible to demand a vote on the following House bills before APRIL 10th (listed in IRCOT’s priority order):
HB 266 (Berman) – requires E-Verify workplace eligibility checks for state agencies, their contractors and local governments; prohibits “sanctuary cityâ€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Dear Constituent,
Please let me personally thank you for taking the time to contact my
office. Due to the large number of emails that this office receives, I'm
afraid it is impossible to respond to each one. Please rest assured that
my staff does read each email throughly and carefully.
If your email is regarding a request for assistance from my office, it
will be sent to my Director of Constitutent Services, Ms. Kathy
Carrington. She will be in contact with you as soon as possible. If you
have an issue which requires more immediate attention, please contact
Ms. Carrington at 972/394-3904.
If your email is regarding a request for information regarding
legislation or on votes I have taken on legislation, you will receive a
personal response from my legislative staff.
If your email is voicing a position on a particular piece of
legislation, please know that although you may not receive a personal
response, my office keeps track of each email, letter and phone call
from a member of the public. The various positions and individual
comments are kept on file with each bill and I review them before the
bill comes before me in committee or on the House floor. I appreciate
each person who takes the time to contact my office.
Again, I appreciate and encourage your input, and thank you for the
opportunity to serve District 65 in the Texas House of Representatives.
Sincerely,
Burt R. Solomons
