‘Shadow Work-Permit System’: Anti-Amnesty Group Reveals More Details

The anti-amnesty Center for Immigration Studies is offering more details on what it calls a “shadow work-permit system,” in which the Obama administration has issued millions of work permits beyond the levels mandated by Congress.

CIS — which recently revised its initial estimate of the unauthorized issuance of additional new work permits up— reports that between 2009 and 2014, the Obama administration issued 7.4 million new work permits, above the annual 1.1 million new legal and 700,000 guest workers admitted to the U.S.

“The huge number of work permits being issued above and beyond [congressionally mandated] limits inevitably reduces opportunities for U.S. workers, damages the integrity of the immigration system, and encourages illegal immigration,” Jessica Vaughan, CIS’ director of policy studies, writes in her report.

Monday CIS revealed more details on the “shadow” system, specifically that from 2009 to 2014, of the 7.4 million permits, 4.7 million were new issuances and 2.7 million were renewals, and that the fastest growing category of issuances were those to illegal aliens, tourists, students and family members of temporary workers. The level doubled over the six year period.

Further, CIS says that the largest categories of work permit issuances had an approval rate of 90 percent or greater — for example, according to CIS, the the approval rate for illegal border crossers was 90 percent, tourists as 93 percent, and unknown/unreported was 94 percent.

Additionally, 96 percent of those who applied as students were able to receive a work permit, as were 91 percent of those applying as dependents of H-1B guest workers, which CIS says are not authorized to work.

“These statistics confirm the concerns raised recently in federal court, that the Obama administration is flagrantly abusing its ability to grant work permits in order to get around the limits on legal admissions that are set by Congress to protect job opportunities for Americans,” Vaughan said Monday. “This is happening on a massive scale that goes way beyond deferred action and authorized humanitarian programs.”

She further pressed Congress not to wait for the courts to take action but instead to “take steps now to rein in President Obama’s executive overreach and restore the integrity of our immigration system.”

Earlier this month, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) called for an investigation into the “shadow” system.

“A full investigation is warranted. In addition to the widespread non-enforcement of existing immigration law—such as the public charge rule—we know now the Administration has been issuing millions of additional work permits beyond what Congress has authorized,” he said.

To me, this is grounds for immediate impeachment and removal from office of the President and every cabinet member involved and everyone else involved should be fired and prosecuted with Obama and the Cabinet members. All those work permits need to be revoked and the illegal aliens given them, deported immediately before they do any more damage.

Now, lets look at the numbers. If there's still 12 million illegal aliens in the country, and there are another 7.4 million who were secretly and illegally given work permits, then that's 20 million counting the DACA's. And that's just the ones we know about. So when Bear Stearns studied and concluded there were 20 million or more illegal aliens in the US, they were exactly right and the Pew Center was completely wrong. We can't trust the Pew Center for this data. There are far more than 20 million, and they all must be deported. We can not build or maintain a nation with people who break our laws, believe they are above the laws, and think they are entitled to special treatment and privileges. We can not allow this group of people to remain in the United States, they must go and they must go now.

This means the need is even more urgent to immediately authorize state and local law enforcement agencies to enforce US immigration law so they can find them, arrest them and deport them.

This is one of the biggest outrages Ive ever read about.

It most certainly is, William. And what about other Presidents, have they used "shadow" permits to defraud the numbers, conceal the truth, lie to Congress and violate US immigration, US labor and US civil rights law to allow foreign persons to steal our jobs, deflate our wages and salaries, drain our education, health care and public benefits programs, and rob our treasuries? I wonder.

In any event, this must never ever be allowed, and just gives even more justification for at least a 10 year moratorium on all new immigration. Grind this nonsense to a halt now, and start prosecuting all those who have violated our laws. This will send a strong message to people in other countries to stay home and fix their countries instead of bailing out, abandoning them, and coming here to burden US with their presence and all the baggage that goes with it. It will also put an end to the immigration corruption in our government that is appearing more and more to be the root cause of illegal immigration. Federal prosecutors need to be investigating every single person involved in this travesty, checking their bank accounts, and getting to the bottom of the cartels who have bought them up and turned them into deviant traitors.
