U.S. District Court documents say 10 immigrants who were picking mushrooms in the Lolo National Forest were arrested in May of 2018.
One of those arrested is also being charged with assaulting a federal agent.
After a stabbing was reported at the Quartz Flat Campground near Superior, Montana, officials reportedly tried to interview residents of the campground who were suspected of being in the country illegally after providing what appeared to be forged immigration visas.
According to court documents, during the interviews, one man, identified as Tomas Andres-Gregorio, tried to push his way past a special agent who had asked to see his papers.
Prosecutors say Andres-Gregorio was detained, but before he could be placed in handcuff, he swung and struck the special agent several times.
