My son is 20 now and I have always been careful with his social security number more so now to prevent theft. The Social Security Administration could let card number owners know if their number has been used fraudulently but they hide behind the privacy law (which benefits the one who stole your number) and our government does nothing about it. It is not that they do not know who is using our numbers fraudulently they just do not want to tell us as I am sure the numbers are staggering and they want these funds which we are never told what is done with.
Freedom isn't free... Don't forget the men who died and gave that right to all of us....

Speaking of this, I got an email this morning from a friend that absolutely blew my socks off (okay, well my slippers). All you have to do is go to this website, type in your name and state and it's amazing what pops up.
I put in one of my daughters names that lives out of state and her name, birthdate, address, and phone number came up. You click on "background information, and for like $45.00 you can get everything you ever wanted to see.
Check this out:
Beginning this month (JULY '06) a new database will be available to the
general public free of charge that displays your personal information
(names, addresses, phone numbers, birth dates). (Soc. Sec. is available for
a price.) The database is found at http://www.zabasearch.com/ type in your
name and check ... you'll be SHOCKED as I was!
I urge you to forward this email to family and friends. Check to see if your
name and information is in their database. If so and you want it removed,
send them an e-mail at info@zabasearch.com to request it be removed. I do
not know how our names are appearing there, but I checked my own and a few
other random ones and they are all in this database!
After opting out by email, check back after a few days to make certain your
information has been removed. If it has not been removed then file a
complaint with your State's Attorney General.

If you really want to add to your discomfort, Google your name. I Google'd 'curiouspat' because it was suggested I do so.
Check yours out.TIME'S UP!

Dear God Pat,
I just "googled" my whole name and came up with being quoted on a website called "nicedoggie.net." which is "The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler".

Yochanon, at least it was comforting to see so many people responding by hitting Frist over the head with the Clue-By-Four. (MY NAME HERE, Joe & Isabelle Butler, and Douglas Friedman were is especially top form, IMO)
Thanks Pat, (I think)

I have a very, very uncommon name, and to see so many "hits" on it is absolutely scary.
I did google the CW and found "I" was also posted on a Native dating site and was only 42. (I wish!!!!!)) It didn show my information here in ALIPAC.
