124 undocumented Central American migrants found in Arizona desert

Jack Lechich, Arizona Republic Published 8:12 p.m. MT Dec. 4, 2018

Border Patrol agents in Arizona caught two large groups of undocumented Central American migrants totaling 124 people last week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a statement Tuesday.

Casa Grande agents encountered the first group, which included several families, on Wednesday morning near a remote border camp in southwest Arizona, officials said.

Later in the afternoon, the second group of migrants was found near the Lukeville Port of Entry in an area where thousands of undocumented immigrants were apprehended this past summer, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.

Both groups were unharmed and composed of Guatemalans and Hondurans ranging in age from 4 months to 53 years old.

Agents took both groups to stations for further processing.

Border Patrol agents in Arizona have apprehended numerous groups of Central American migrants traveling into the state from Mexico since last summer. The incidents were occurring before the recent publicity about large caravans heading to the border.

According to Customs and Border Protection statistics, 396,579 people were apprehended along the U..S-Mexico border in fiscal 2018, a 30 percent increase from a year earlier.

U.S. officials said last week that about 4,000 U.S. troops will continue deployment along the border until January.

Process and load them on a barge in San Diego. Let the Navy and Coast Guard ship them home!

Where has Mattis and Trump decided to hide the military, because they certainly are not stopping any illegals from coming in?

They numbers crossing our border are staggering!

Shut the border down...all of it until Mexico buses them all home!

They are bringing crime, diseases, will overcrowd our schools and healthcare system!
