SAN ANTONIO - Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested 125 people, most with criminal histories, over a six-week period in Central and South Texas.
According to information provided by ICE, most of the the suspects arrested had criminal convictions or were facing charges including assault, sex crimes, drug trafficking and manslaughter.
They were part of the agency's latest operation to round up wanted fugitives who are in the country illegally.
ICE says they may be deported by federal order. Others still face criminal prosecution.
“With each arrest, our aim is to not only protect their current victims but to prevent future ones. Our communities will now be safer after the removal of these wanted perpetrators,” said Jose Correa, field office director for ERO San Antonio. “We will continue to target criminals illegally in the U.S. who pose a threat to public safety."
