14-Day Vekol Valley Operation Nets 65 Arrests

CASA GRANDE - More than 60 suspected illegal immigrants have been arrested following a 14-day operation in the Vekol Valley.

Between October 9 and 22, the Alliance to Combat Transnational Threats conducted Operation ROAM in the Vekol Valley.

Over the course of the operation, 63 illegal aliens and 2 U.S. citizens were arrested, 4,153 pounds of marijuana were seized, and 11 vehicles were seized and 3 stolen vehicles were recovered.

Almost 6,000 pounds of trash was also cleaned up and removed.

Personnel from BLM, DPS, US Border Patrol, Customs and Border Protection, ICE-HSI, ICE-ERO, US Attorney's Office, Pinal County Sheriff's Office, Pinal County Attorney's Office, Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, and Eloy Police Department participated in the operations.
