15 illegal immigrants arrested near Muskogee
MUSKOGEE — Sheriff's deputies arrested 15 illegal immigrants in a traffic stop on Interstate 40 in Muskogee County, the second time a group of undocumented people were picked up in the general area this week.
The 15 people were jammed into a pickup camper that was spotted weaving Wednesday. Sunday, 16 illegal immigrants were taken into custody after the vehicle they were in was stopped for a traffic violation.
Law enforcement officers actively patrol the interstate as part of drug interdiction efforts.

Doesn't OK have a fairly strict immigration law that just took effect? If so are they actually enforcing it?

Some of it has taken effect but most of it is just on public works projects. July 1st is when the bill take effect for the private sector. As someone who does construction I sure haven't seen much of a difference so far out at the jobsites. All of the convenience stores near the additions are still inundated at lunch time with non-English speaking, rude hispanics

For the third time in less than a week, Muskogee County deputies have picked up illegal aliens on Interstate 40, Sheriff Charles Pearson said.
Thursday’s arrests bring the total to 43, according to Pearson.
Deputy Jimmy Williams stopped a vehicle Thursday afternoon and discovered 12 illegal immigrants, Pearson said.
The eastbound vehicle, which was stopped for speeding, was a white Suburban with a paper tag out of Arizona, he said.
