An illegal alien killed a Tennessee man on Saturday night in a head-on collision.


Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo was charged with Criminally Negligent Homicide after he crossed the highway and hit a Chevy pickup traveling north on Chapman Highway.

The Knoxville fire captain’s son was killed in the head-on collision.

Knoxville Police have charged a man accused in a deadly crash on Chapman Highway Saturday night with criminally negligent homicide.


KPD said Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo, 44, now faces the homicide charge in addition to charges for not having a driver’s license and having no proof of financial responsibility, which means he did not have driver’s insurance. Arrest records also showed there was a hold for immigration (ICE).


An investigation found at around 6:40 p.m. Saturday, a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling north around the 4700 block of Chapman Highway when it crossed into the southbound lanes of traffic and hit a Honda Civic, resulting in a chain reaction crash, according to KPD. In total, four cars were involved.


Police shut down the road in both directions for four hours.


KPD said the driver of the Honda Civic died and identified him as 22-year-old Pierce Kennedy Corcoran of Knoxville.

Corcoran was born Aug. 4, 1996 in Knoxville, Tenn. He is the son of Knoxville Fire Department Captain and public information officer DJ Corcoran, a longtime friend of WATE 6 On Your Side.

Knoxville Police have charged a man accused in a deadly crash on Chapman Highway Saturday night with criminally negligent homicide.


KPD said Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo, 44, now faces the homicide charge in addition to charges for not having a driver's license and having no proof of financial responsibility, which means he did not have driver's insurance. Arrest records also showed there was a hold for immigration (ICE).

Emergency responders took Corcoran and his girlfriend who was a passenger in his car to UT Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at the hospital and she was treated for injuries that weren't life-threatening.



Corcoran was the son of Knoxville Fire Capt. DJ Corcoran.
The drivers and passengers in the other vehicles were not injured, according to Knoxville Police.



The new charges come after investigators met with the Knox County District Attorney General's office to review the findings of the investigation.



"Based on the facts developed in the investigation, a warrant was issued charging Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo with one count of Criminally Negligent Homicide," according to KPD.



Francisco-Eduardo remains in custody at the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility.

Pierce Corcoran, dead at 22

Pierce Kennedy Corcoran, 22, athlete and member of a well-known local family, died Saturday in a multi-vehicle crash on Chapman Highway. An employee of Federal Express for five years, he was completing certification as a personal trainer. He graduated from Grace Christian Academy in 2015.

His father is Captain D.J. Corcoran, public information officer for the Knoxville Fire Department, and his aunt is Knox County Clerk Sherry Witt. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, at Central Baptist Church of Fountain City. Survivors also include mother Wendy Corcoran, sister Avery Pressley and brother Connor Corcoran.

Darrell DeBusk of the Knoxville Police Department said officers responded to the crash in the 4700 block of Chapman Highway near Gwinfield Drive at about 6:30 p.m. Dec. 29. Corcoran and his passenger, 21-year-old Jade Adams of Smyrna, were taken to UT Medical Center where he was pronounced dead and she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.

Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo, 44, of Oak Ridge was driving a Chevrolet truck headed north on Chapman Highway when it veered into the southbound lanes of traffic and hit Corcoran’s Honda Civic, which was headed south. Two other vehicles were involved in the wreck, but no one reported personal injuries.



Francisco-Eduardo was arrested and transported to the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility where he is being held without bail, according to DeBusk.

Drunk Driving, Illegal Lawbreaker Kills 22-Year-Old Son of TN Fire Captain

The son a Knoxville, Tennessee Fire Captain, 22-year-old Pierce Kennedy Corcoran, was hit head-on by a drunk driving illegal alien who caused a four-car collision on Chapman Highway last Saturday night.


He was taken to the hospital where he died. His girlfriend Jade Adams was hurt and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

No one else involved was injured. That’s just luck.


The illegal alien was driving a Chevy truck with his son in the car, crossed the highway and hit the Corcoran car head-on. He did not have a drivers license or insurance.


Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo, 44, was charged with criminally negligent homicide with additional charges for driving without a license and insurance.


There is no ICE hold out on him and he has been in the country illegally for ten years.

This man, with no respect for our laws, should not have been here. Why is he? And, why was no one even looking for him? Keeping drunk drivers here illegally in the country is insane.


If you talk to libs, they will tell you drunk driving is not enough of a crime warranting deportation. The DACA and DAPA people can stay with these types of crimes – no biggie. Tell that to Pierce Corcoran, oh, wait, you can’t, he’s dead at 22.


The media played down or ignored his status as an illegal.

Son of KFD Captain killed in Chapman Highway crash

A 44 year old man from Oak Ridge man now faces one count of Criminally Negligent Homicide after a crash left one man dead on Chapman Highway.



Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo was arrested in connection with the crash for driving without a license and is currently being held for immigration and customs enforcement.

Investigators with the Knoxville Police Department met with the Knox County District Attorney General's Office and brought the homicide charge against Francisco-Eduardo.


Francisco-Eduardo's son tells 10News he is from Mexico and has been in the United States for more than 10 years.



22-year-old Pierce Corcoran was killed when Francisco-Eduardo's truck veered into oncoming traffic and struck his Honda Civic head-on. Pierce is the son of Knoxville Fire Department Captain DJ Corcoran.



"It’s not my child, but in a sense, it’s our family's child. It’s painful," said Paul Trumpore, the Chaplain for the Knoxville Fire Department. "For those who were on that scene, they wish they could have changed the outcome. Sometimes we can, sometimes we cannot. But it weighs heavy. It weighs heavy."








Corcoran excelled in sports and was in the process of completing his personal trainer certification.



For firefighters responding to the crash, it was as if they were trying to save the life of one of their own.



"The passions are higher, the performance anxiety is higher, the questions about what did I do right and what did I do wrong are higher, and those are difficult circumstances for any responder," said Trumpore. "It’s not that you do a different job, you do the same job. But you have the passion knowing that it’s one of your own."



In the past three years, there have been 10 fatal crashes on a 22 mile stretch of Chapman Highway from South Knoxville to Sevierville. 12 people died in those crashes.



The Tennessee Department of Transportation says there are projects on Chapman Highway currently under development to help improve safety for drivers, including widening lanes and improving sight distance for drivers.
