The Justice Department says 19 parents of separated children under the age of 5 have already been deported.
Sarah Fabian, an attorney for the Justice Department, provided a breakdown of what’s known so far about the roughly 100 possibly separated kids under 5 in custody.

• 83 children have been mapped with 86 parents, Fabian said. Sixteen minors have not been mapped with parents.
• Of the 86 parents, 46 are in ICE custody. Another 19 have been removed from the US and 19 were released from ICE custody
• Two of the 86 parents “have been determined to have a criminal history that would make them unfit or a danger, criminal convictions related to child cruelty and kidnapping or rape.”

The parents of 38 children under the age of 5 who were separated at the U.S. border cannot be located, government lawyers told Judge Dana Sabraw of the Southern District of California on Friday.

Nineteen of the children have parents who have been deported, while parents of the other 19 children have reportedly been released in the U.S.

The government has a court-imposed deadline requiring the 100 children under the age of five in its custody to be reunited with their parents by July 10th.

Government lawyers said only half will be able to be reunited by that deadline. Judge Sabraw agreed to delay the deadline if the government provided a master list on the status of each parent and child by 10 a.m. PT on Monday.

You're fishing without bait. Other countries can't stop their citizens from leaving no more than we can stop ours. Countries aren't prisons that confine their citizens. Unfortunately, the security of our nation and its borders is the responsibility of the federal government .... to include our elected Congress critters and President.

What you propose is unworkable and unrealistic.

...Mexico requires people to have a passport to leave the country, not a visa to enter another one.

Mexico cannot forbid anyone to go into another country of their choice.

This may seems strange to Americans whose government has forbidden them in the past to enter, for example, Cuba.

Mexico is, in that aspect, less authoritarian. The “illegally” side of the question is “illegal” from the US perspective, not from the Mexican perspective.

In Mexico it´s not a crime to enter another country without a visa.

Second: Mexico does thing to prevent illegal crossing. The coyotes´ activities is illegal and they are persecuted. Clearly , it´s not enough. Mexico can and should do more. But it would be only to please the US, not because it is its obligation. What Mexico should do is to have better economic and social policies to create more and better-paid jobs. But in order to do that, it would have to make a radical change (to the left)… and the US wouldn´t like that. The serpent bites its tail.
