EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - The U.S. attorney's office for Oregon says two illegal immigrants from Mexico have been sentenced to 10 years in prison on heroin possession and trafficking charges.
Federal prosecutors describe the two as accomplices of the leader of a ring of drug dealers headquartered in Lane County.
Agents from several agencies arrested 34 suspects in March 2007 raids.
Judge Michael Hogan sentenced two earlier this week: 31-year-old Juan Carlos Torres-Gonzalez and 20-year-old Marcellino Vargas-Escobar.
The prosecution says Torrez-Gonzalez had 261 grams of heroin when he was arrested at his home. That's more than half a pound.
