2008 GOP Presidential Candidate Wanted -- Moderates Need Not Apply
    By John W. Lillpop
    Nov 24, 2006

As if the November 7 election results were not bad enough, Messrs. John McCain and Rudy Guliani poured salt in those open wounds by announcing that each had authorized an "exploratory committee" to weigh their prospects for the 2008 presidential sweepstakes.
Good grief, hasn't the GOP suffered enough at the hands of a RINO president and several RINO senators and representatives over the past few years?

Given the fact that McCain is liberal on illegal immigration and coercion of detainees, and Guliani is to the left of center on nearly all major issues, how can either man have any hope of capturing the nomination?

Does the word conservative resonate with anyone these days? Conservative -- the type of bloke or blokess who is pro-life, in favor of lower taxes, hawkish on defense, for secure borders, pro-traditional family values, pro-death penalty, pro-conservative judges, and pro-Christianity.

Our ideal bloke or blokess should also be anti-illegal immigration, anti-big government, anti-deficit spending, and anti-same sex marriage.

Just where does a jilted conservative look for representation in 2008?

There are several names that sound good: Tom Tancredo, Matt Romney, Duncan Hunter, and Jeff Sessions to name but a few.

However, the really big question is: Has the time for a viable third party finally arrived? Perhaps a coalition of real conservative Democrats and Republicans can join forces and stage a much-needed political revolution -- before those in the liberal and liberal-light camps push the nation into a quagmire of civil upheaval?

    Duncan Hunter

    DUNCAN HUNTER for President!

Sorry, Tancredo can not win because he took a mental illness deferment to avoid the draft.

    What about a Hunter/Tancredo ticket?

I just reviewed Hunter's voting record on NumbersUSA. Its almost perfect and he's been fighting for border security and against illegals and amnesty for years!

Hmmm, I'm not so sure about this. Our current commander-in-chief won even though some think he was too hung over to show up for his reserve training.

Duncan Hunter has announced he is running in 2008 in case some of you weren't aware. This was discussed a lot at this thread:
