Mexico Tries To Block Execution of Nationals In U.S.
One of the five, Jose Medellin, is due to die on August 5 in Texas, which is poised to set execution dates for the others.
Thursday, June 19, 2008
THE HAGUE (Reuters) - Mexico asked the World Court on Thursday to take urgent steps to stop imminent U.S. executions of five Mexicans on death row who were denied their rights to consular assistance.
One of the five, Jose Medellin, is due to die on August 5 in Texas, which is poised to set execution dates for the others.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague ruled in 2004 that the United States had violated international law by failing to inform 51 Mexicans now on death row of their right to consular assistance and said the cases should be reviewed.
Mexican representative Juan Manuel Gomez-Robledo said the United States was in breach of its international obligations, and asked the U.N.'s highest court to seek stays of the five imminent executions.
"Five Mexican nationals ... could be executed without their convictions and sentences being given the review and reconsideration that is their right," he said.

If these (Mexican representatives) are such talented people why don't they figure out how to make their own country work instead of telling us how to run ours. Then they could reimburse the US for its expenses in dealing with their felons.

Oh, and just suppose Mexico succeeds in this interference with our process.
Are they then willing to pay for the lifelong incarceration of "their" citizens? Citizens of Mexico whom.....might they be reminded.....would not be in this istuation had their own government not exported them here in the first place.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Bush himself already tried to interfere with the executions in Texas and was rebuked by the Supreme Court.
I can hardly wait till they begin putting these scumbags down.

Mexico should save their money and time and quit crying over this piece of human garbage. The Supreme Court has over ruled the International Court of Justice. This scumbag will get some good old fashion Texas justice August 5th.

This will likely effect all Mexicans that have become US citizens, since they have dual citizenship. Therefore, a Mexican immigrant will be protected from the US, if Mexico gets it's way. They will continue to interfere, even after the person has become a citizen. I can just see this getting twisted up by the courts.
