Forty-four undocumented immigrants were found in two refrigerated trailers on Friday after being searched at a South Texas checkpoint.
According to a statement from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, 19 immigrants were first located the Falfurrias checkpoint with the remainder 25 were found hours after in another truck at the same location.
Supervisory Border Patrol Agent, Robert Rodriguez, revealed both drivers have been arrested, while investigators are looking into whether the two incidents are related.
The forty-four individuals, which originate from Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala, will be processed according to their immigration status, Rodriguez said.
According to My San Antonio, no one required medical attention despite temperatures in the trailers running around 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
Of course, this is not the first time truck drivers have used their trailers to smuggle undocumented immigrants. In a deadly incident back in July, eight people were found dead while 30 others were suffering from serious dehydration in the back of a sweltering truck in San Antonio.
