Republicans on the House Administration Committee want to shore up voter registration rules in the wake of a Colorado study that found as many as 5,000 non-citizens in the state took part in last year’s election.

Rep. Gregg Harper (R-Miss.), the panel’s chairman, called the study “a disturbing wake-up callâ€

Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler, a Republican, told the panel that his department’s study identified nearly 12,000 people who were not citizens but were still registered to vote in Colorado.

This news is a major reason for driver's licences to be banned in all States for undocumented aliens. Those that illegally voted should be tracked down and penalized for voting fraud.

Very disturbing news.

that's what this entire La Raza and Democratic party alliance is all about, votes, and votes to change our country by stealth!

This Colorado voting debacle should be in all the papers and cable TV, internet etc.

I spoke to Lomax , the registar here a couple times and could get nowhere with him

I can almost guaranty there are over 2 million illegals voting here in California.

If colorado knows they voted, they should prosecute. If they start prosecuting them, they might figure out that there is a penalty for illegal behavior.

GRAYSLAKE, Ill. (CBS) – Immigration officials have arrested an illegal immigrant from the Philippines living in Grayslake on vote fraud charges.

As WBBM Newsradio 780′s Nancy Harty reports, Maria Azada, 53, allegedly admitted to immigration officials in February 2009 that she had voted in an election.

An investigation began, and revealed that Azada voted nine times in primary, general and consolidated elections between 2003 and 2009, according to a release from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. According to the arrest warrant, she falsely claimed to be a U.S. citizen on two Illinois voter registration applications.

Azada now faces 17 felony counts of perjury, mutilation of election materials and tampering with voting machines in connection with illegal voting by a non-U.S. citizen, the release said.

If convicted, Azada faces up to five years in state prison on each of two perjury counts, up to three years on each of the six counts of tampering and nine counts of mutilation of election materials, the release said. She also faces deportation.

Gary Hartwig, special agent in charge of ICE Homeland Security Investigations in Chicago, says the agency will “aggressively investigate and bring to justice anyone who falsely claims to be a U.S. citizen so they can illegally vote.â€

It's too late and would take too much man power and time to attempt hunting down all the illegals who voted. We ALL know they voted MULTIPLE time also! INSTEAD of wasting time thinking about looking for them, this time needs to be spent to inform USA citizens that proper ID is required to vote from this moment on! Does a bill need to be passed to enforced that or what? Isn't it written in our Constitution or equivilent somewhere that ONLY USA citizens are permitted to vote? If not, what will it take to change it? Is it something that each State needs to pass or it a Federal Government's decision? Whatever the case is, there should be PLENTY of time to fix it before the next election cycle. If it were to happen though, I'd be very surprised! Here's an interesting, ironic idea.....perhaps there needs to be a special election allowing exclusively to US citizens (with proper ID) to vote on passing any laws needed to make it a LAW that ONLY US citizens can vote!!
