The United States has never had a "physically secure" border. Not ever in our history. There is no mandate for such in the Constitution or Law. There is no such requirement that makes this a "duty" of anyone. If we can secure and protect our country with diplomacy, trade and economic sanctions, then that is what we need to do, so please stop making up stuff. We of course have an obligation to control who enters our country, but how we do that, we are free to decide and because economic sanctions are a great idea to do this, then that is what we should do. It's just a shame no one thought of it 30 million illegal aliens ago.

That doesn't mean we can't have a wall, we can do that, too, it doesn't mean we can't militarize our border, we can do that, too. But if we have economic sanctions, holding the citizens and governments of the countries responsible for this scourge on our nation, then the other things aren't so pressing, may not even be necessary, we can decide that after using a no cost, simple, immediate economic sanctions action to grind this to a halt.

You want to continue to make excuses for Trump and our U.S. Congress for not securing our border, knock yourself out.

Section 4, Article 4 of the U.S. Constitution requires the United States to guarantee every State in the Union a Republic Form of Government and shall protect each of them against invasion, and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence.

The President and each member of Congress has sworn an oath to protect and defend the U.S. Constitution.

The only way to ensure the security of our nation against an invasion and protect its citizens from domestic violence from illegal aliens is to secure our own borders, not place ourselves at the mercy or depend on the actions of other countries!

This isn't a Hurricane you cower from or hide from or lock yourself up from, this is an international issue, caused by other countries threatening our national security, threatening our general welfare, threatening our sovereignty, threatening our public safety, threatening our political system, threatening every citizen of the United States it hasn't already robbed, harmed or destroyed.

And you want to oppose economic sanctions today for a wall sometime in the future, IF and ONLY IF Republicans win the mid-terms and gain 10 seats in the US Senate? A Wall they can blow up, climb over or knock down? Really?!!

If Republicans don't win 10 more seats in the US Senate in November while still keeping a Majority in the US House of Representatives, there will never be a wall, there will never be any legislation or funding we want or need, so you're just Whistlin' Dixie and you know how that turned out.
