75 illegal immigrants arrested by ICE in north Texas and Oklahoma

TEXAS (KAUZ) -A 3-day Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation ends with 75 arrests in North Texas and Oklahoma.
In a news release, the Department of Homeland Security said the operation was targeting criminal aliens, illegal re-entrants, and immigration fugitives.
It began on Saturday, April 1st and ended Monday, April 3rd.
50 arrests were made in the following North Texas cities: Abilene (5), Amarillo (1), Arlington (2),
Canadian (1), Carrollton (1), Dallas (11), Denton (1), Fort Worth (1), Frisco (1), Garland (2),
Lewisville (1), Lubbock (10), Muleshoe (1), Plainview (2), San Angelo (2), Slaton (1) and Tyler (7) and 25 arrests were made the following Oklahoma cities:
Oklahoma City (18) and Tulsa (7.)
ICE officials said all foreign nationals targeted during this operation has prior criminal convictions.
73 of the people arrested were men the other two were women. They ranged in age from 18 to 61 years old.
During the ICE operation Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers were assisted by special agents with ICE Homeland Security Investigations.
In a news released Simona L. Flores, field office director for ERO Dallas said, "We specifically targeted criminal aliens during this operation and we improved overall public safety by removing 52 convicted criminal aliens from our streets throughout North Texas and Oklahoma. This was a focused three-day operation, but our routine operations occur daily."
In the fiscal year 2016, ICE has conducted 240,255 removals nationwide and 92-percent of those people has previously been convicted of a crime.
