One thing we need to understand, courts don't seem to need a legal reason to do whatever they choose to do.
Just think of the judge who refused to charge a man with hit and run,and only gave him 6 years for killing a man. She did this because of the the political atmosphere (or to that effect). She said she wasn't going to sentence a man for politics. This wasn't politics, it was the law, pure and simple. She has the gavel, though and did exactly what she said she wasn't going to do. She used, and abused, the law because of HER politics.
If it had been a citizen, the sentencing would have been very different - I'm sure.

Whatever. But I'll support my "promise-breaker" every day from now until I cast a vote for his re-election and every day of his second term, because but for this man named Donald J Trump, we wouldn't even be having this conversation, we'd be crying in our beer that 30 million illegal aliens were just amnestied by Hillary Clinton and the US Congress. So if you want to keep beating up the best person who has ever come along to support our cause at the highest level of our government, that is your choice.
