    A relatively quiet day

    Milenio (Mexico City) 6/1/08

There were fourteen homicides around the country yesterday, mainly in the states of Sinaloa, Guerrero and Chihuahua. In Chihuahua, in the town of Guadalupe, a woman was heading to the cemetery to bury her father, the ex-mayor of Guadalupe, who had been murdered Thursday. But then she also was murdered in a car-to-car gunfire assault during the funeral procession. At last count there have been 493 execution victims in Mexico during the month of May.

    - At Mexico City's airport, passenger Julio Alberto Luna Garcia was headed for Panama but his suitcase was found to contain "more than" a million and a half dollars. - Bus passenger Salvador Sandoval, 66, was detained after officers at a highway checkpoint in Chihuahua found one and a half kilos of heroin in three different packets adhered to his body. He had been headed for Ciudad Juarez.

    - In Nogales, Sonora, a search of a house at #404 Agua Prieta, Colonia Granjas, produced five shoulder weapons, four handguns, over a thousand rounds of ammo, 36 clips and 5 vehicles.

    - In Culiacan, Sinaloa, five thugs were arrested and 36 vehicles seized including 24 trailer cargo units, an armored vehicle and others. The gang is believed to be involved in the transportation of stolen vehicles and contraband including firearms and drugs. (Also from El Universal)

The answer to the headline is OBVIOUSLY

However the paragraph is poorly translated and the title is not more lengthy than ours.

I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
