Agents arrest 6 illegal aliens in Glasgow
Agents with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection arrested six illegal aliens from Mexico on Sunday in Glasgow after investigating a tip.
Border Patrol agents with the agency's Havre Sector determined that six men, all Mexican nationals from Mexico City, did not have the proper documents to work legally in the United States, said Alex Harrington, a public affairs specialist with the Havre Sector, on Monday.
The men admitted they had entered the country illegally and on their own through Arizona and had been in the United States from four months to one year, Harrington said.
When arrested, the six had been employed by Acosta Roofing, of Westminster, Colo., and were working to repair hail-damaged roofs in Glasgow, he said. Agents questioned seven individuals in the investigation and arrested six.
Agents confiscated the aliens' personal property and transported them for initial processing to
the Border Patrol's Scobey Station with help from the Valley County Sheriff's Department and the Glasgow Police Department.
During the processing, all six aliens agreed to be deported to Mexico under a removal program rather than to go before an immigration judge, Harrington said. None of the six had a criminal record.
"With the assistance from local law enforcement agencies like the Valley County Sheriff's Office and the Glasgow Police Department we continue to build partnerships that protect Americans' quality of life," said Brenna Neinast, chief patrol agent in the Havre Section.

Illegals nabbed in Glasgow to face deportation

By KIM SKORNOGOSKI
Tribune Staff Writer
Law enforcement apprehended six illegal Mexican nationals Sunday evening who were living in Glasgow and repairing hail-damaged roofs.
Responding to a community member's tip, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents questioned six men Sunday evening, said border patrol spokesman Alex Harrington. The routine investigation revealed that none of the men had proper immigration documentation.
Acosta Roofing, based out of Westminster, Colo., employed the men, who entered the United States through Arizona and had been working in the United States for the last four to 18 months, Harrington said.
Their names and ages weren't released, but none had criminal records.
Gov. Brian Schweitzer declared Glasgow, Nashua and Melstone disaster areas after the area was hit by heavy hail, rain and winds on June 16. The damage to streets, sewer systems and other public infrastructure totaled more than $225,000, but the damage to private crops and homes is much higher.
Roofing companies like Acosta from across the region have flocked to the area to repair the damage. Harrington said the tip only pertained to the six immigrants detained Sunday and couldn't comment on whether any of the other repair companies were being investigated for hiring illegal immigrants.
"This is a good example of how folks in the community do keep our agents informed of possible illegal immigrants," he said Monday. "They definitely fortify our border patrol mission."
Valley County Sheriff's deputies and Glasgow police were called in after 6:30 p.m. Sunday to help transport them to the Scobey border patrol station.
The Mexican nationals agreed to be deported and will be flown back to their home in Mexico City without going before an immigration judge under the stipulated removal program.
During fiscal year 2006, which spans October 2005 and September 2006, more than 400 illegal immigrants were apprehended in the 440,000 square miles making up the Havre border patrol sector. That area includes 430 miles of border, all of Montana east of the Continental Divide, as well as Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and parts of Idaho.

But it is more like anger than shock. I'm not shocked - I don't expect anything more. I am glad people are posting these here, only to show how stupid they think we are. The news media, at the behest I'm sure of the WH, are writing all these stories and when you add them up, there havetn' been 200 arrested - and how many deported?
I am afraid too many people are going to think something is being done - when it isn't.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

I don't think you have to worry about us thinking they are doing something Most of us are well aware they would have to arrest half a million a year to just keep up with what is crossing the border!! But I am glad to know you are not in shock and just mad !!
