Agents broke law, White House says(welcome to noborders.com)
Border Patrol advocates say the punishment is too harsh, particularly compared with more lenient penalties for more serious offenses by other immigration authorities. Some Republicans in Congress want Mr. Bush to pardon the agents or, short of that, allow the men to remain free while an appeal is pending.
"We're going to find out whose side you're on ... the American people or the side of our enemies," Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, California Republican, said of Mr. Bush in a press conference this week. "If you let these two men go to jail for defending us, then we'll know you're on the side of our enemies."
Unless you've been hiding under a rock, just about everybody in the United States knows what side George Bush is on(and the rest of the world for that matter).
His taking care of family business plan may be faltering in Iraq, but the new world order is right on track for bringing in the entire Western Hemisphere inside of the vanishing American borders.
And there's no stifling of revenues for ever more gigantic Globalficating Corporations.

The offenses these Agents are guilty of are much closer to administrative than harmful, allowing them to spend many years in prison is an incredible miscarriage of justice. Any other Law Officers would be given self defense benefit of the oubt. That they picked up their brass and didn't report the incident would not send them to prison.
This lack of action by the President is designed to send a message to other Border Agents.
Don't be too zealous while enforcing our immigration laws, we want these people here, just put on a show to make Americans think we're trying so they'll stay off our backs and millions more can flood the U.S.
What does "We the People" have to do with it?
Over punishment for Law enforcement and under punishment for Lawbreakers is the lesson of the day.

IndianaJones.
"We are NOT a nation of immigrants!"
So true.
WHEN WILL AMERICA GET OVER BEING AN IMMIGRANT NATION?
To use "immigrant nation" as an example, one would have to include
every nation on earth, from the time of Adam and Eve all the way to our present time.
Everyone came from somewhere, sometime.
America is the only nation left on the earth that's naive enough to
not enforce even the weak immigration laws we do have.
America has been a declared nation since 1776, that's more than
long enough to become sovereign, America has also been more than
enough, welcoming and sympathetic in accepting the huddled masses
for the last 230 years, any immigrant obligation has now been
fulfilled.
It's time to stop, 400 million Americans by 2050, is already going
to be far more than we can sustain.
So far as America is concerned, there is no requirement for us to be
welcoming or sympathetic in any way shape or form.
There is however, a constitutional guarantee of sovereignty,
security and safety.
We have been all of the two that aren't required and have little of
the three that are required.
There also is no constitutional atonement for suffering. If you
break the law, you get punished and we aren't likely to pardon any
other lawbreakers because their family suffers from the administration of justice.
Immigration isn't mandated by any law or document; America doesn't have the ability to continue uncontrolled immigration.
The insanity must come to an end.
REPEAL THE FOURTEENTH AMENDMENT!
ENFORCEMENT FIRST! ENFORCEMENT NOW! ENFORCEMENT ALWAYS!

It looks to me like GW cares more for drug smugglers then for border patrol agents.

Someone somehow someday needs to do a thorough investigation into this case. I'd like to know just who exactly ordered who to go after the drug smuggler to testify against our agents. Say, when the agents have their new trial perhaps that will come out. I want the whole truth behind this act against our agents, who weren't perfect, but no way deserve this kind of treatment from our government.

I'm kind of curious if the bullet that found it's way into the drug runners butt was ever proven to have come from one of the Agents weapons.
