A federal judge sentenced an illegal alien to serve 15 years in prison for the distribution of more than $20,000 worth of methamphetamine.

Bertha Moore, a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, said Leonel Bravo-Zamora, 22, was sentenced Thursday to serve 188 months in federal prison.

According to court records, federal agents charged Bravo-Zamora in June 2009 with felony possession with intent to distribute 500 or more grams of methamphetamine. Records show agents seized at least a pound of meth during his arrest in Enterprise. A jury found him guilty of that charge in December.

Moore said Bravo-Zamora is an illegal resident of the U.S., and he will be deported at the conclusion of his sentence.

Records showed the charges filed against Bravo-Zamora and two other men, Isidro Franco Arreola and Fredi Omar Bueso Bueso, were part of an investigation
against Jose Emilio Franco Llamas.
