Activist's son to attend march in Washington

CHICAGO -- Elvira Arellano announced Wednesday that her 7-year-old son will join several dozen children in Washington, D.C., next week to fight for U.S. citizen children whose parents are undocumented immigrants.

Arellano is a prominent activist and has tried to avoid deportation by seeking sanctuary in a Humboldt Park church since Aug. 15. Arellano said about 25 families with children have already confirmed their participation, and she expects supporters to fill a bus from Chicago.

The children plan to march from Capitol Hill to the White House on Nov. 3.

"This is a campaign about children," said Arellano, who will not attend the march. "We want to send a message to President Bush to stop the deportations and the separation of families."

This {mod edit} has not been deported yet? She's a fugitive felon as far as I know.

I can't tell you how embarassing it is to see that Arellano is still in the US. What, we're afraid to send our law enforcement agents into the church, to do what, ENFORCE THE LAW?! She's claiming SANCTUARY, when no such law even exists here. Is our law enforcement against illegals underfunded, or just a bunch of cowards?

Speaking of cowards, nice to see these law-breakers are using the child angle for their upcoming protests. Imagine a day when an elected official says,"We'll eliminate the anchor baby factor by sending the ENTIRE family home." Maybe then Arellano will come out of her "sanctuary", knowing she won't be going home alone, but with her child.

"Deport 'em all...Let God sort 'em out!!!"

George should be listening to the adult voting citizens of the United States instead of an anchor baby.

This is child abuse. She is using her child for her own agenda. I have a plan. Let's have family and child services take her child away from her for child exploitation and have the SWAT team go and get her mom. If they are too wimpy in Chicago then we can always use the guys who gained access and took Elian Gonzalez so he can be deported to Cuba. I am sure that there are lots of police officers and federal agents who would gladly volunteer their services.
