Feds fine area businesses that hired illegals

PHILADELPHIA — Several area firms were assessed fines Friday for employment of illegal immigrant workers, said United States Attorney Zane David Memeger.
BMR Development LLC, Down to Earth Landscaping and Radley Run Country Club Inc. were each ordered to pay fines based on their connections with International Personnel Resources Inc. (IPR) of West Chester.
IPR was owned and operated by Michael T. Glah of Westtown. Glah, who was found dead in August at home, was charged with shuttling more than 433 illegal aliens into the area between January 2003 and December 2008 while consistently applying for a greater number of temporary work visas than its clients needed and stockpiling the approved documents.
The company also chartered buses from Mexico to West Chester to provide businesses with illegal workers.
