American Airlines, United: don't put separated migrant children on our flights

NEW YORK (Reuters) - American Airlines and United Airlines have asked the federal government to refrain from using their flights to transport migrant children who have been separated from their families.

"The family separation process that has been widely publicized is not at all aligned with the values of American Airlines — we bring families together, not apart," American Airlines said in a statement on Wednesday.

United Chief Executive Oscar Munoz in a statement called the Trump administration's zero tolerance illegal immigration policy that has led to family separations "in deep conflict with our company’s values."

"We have contacted federal officials to inform them that they should not transport immigrant children on United aircraft who have been separated from their parents," Munoz said.

We can load them up on military transport and hand them directly into the care and custody of their President.

This is a rescue operation of these exploited children and they MUST be sent home for their President to house and feed and find their relatives!

What’s that up in the sky? It’s not just a passenger jet … if we’re not mistaken, it’s the virtue signal as well. And as we’ve seen from such great examples as Starbucks, corporate virtue signaling usually ends in either backlash or ridicule.

On Monday, United, American Airlines, and Frontier requested that the Trump administration not use their planes to separate illegal immigrant children from their families.

Trump’s zero-tolerance policy is “in deep conflict” with United’s values? The same airline that violently dragged a doctor off an airplane?

We’re not sure we’d feel safe putting migrant children on United’s flights anyway.

All government employees and their families should stop flying on American and United.

Unless those children are unescorted, the airlines should have no say. If the government buys the tickets, they should be able to fly.

Maybe a C-17. Unless they've changed, the military banned all but cargo in C-5s after two of them crashed evacuating people from Vietnam!
