Harry Reid: Illegal immigrants play a ‘crucial’ role in the U.S. economy
Harry Reid: Illegal immigrants play a ‘crucial’ role in the U.S. economy

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Thursday defended the presence of illegal immigrants in the country, and said they play an important role in the U.S. economy that should not be overlooked.
“Undocumented immigrants… are our neighbors, our classmates,” Reid said on the Senate floor. “Regardless of how they got here and why they lack the proper documentation… they are 11 million people, and they play a crucial part in our economy and communities where they live.”

“I don’t know why the House Republicans don’t realize that. If they did, they would be working to fix our immigration system.”
Reid spoke just one day before the one-year anniversary of the Senate’s passage of a broad immigration bill, and said Republicans have done nothing to consider the bill after a year. He said doing nothing would lead to more deportations, and “more families torn apart.”
In a radio interview Thursday morning, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said full enforcement of the law and deportations are exactly what’s needed to stop illegal immigrant children from flooding the southern U.S. border.
Cruz told the radio program that the anticipated flood of 90,000 children from Central America is a “direct consequence of President Obama’s lawlessness.” He said quickly deporting these children is the best way to reduce the incentive for them to attempt the border crossing, which is a hardship that has also led to sexual and physical abuse of these children.
“I think we need to send them back to their families. We have to enforce the rule of law,” Cruz said. “If we were to grant these children amnesty, the consequences would be the same as the amnesty President Obama granted two years ago.
“You would see next year, instead of 145,000 children, 200,000 children, 250,000 children.”
Democrats have tried to dismiss the claim that more children are trying to cross the border because the Obama administration has indicated that they can receive amnesty once they arrive. Instead, top officials and Democrats like Reid have said these children are simply fleeing poor conditions in their home countries.
“They are fleeing violence, extreme poverty, and they’re coming because they’re scared, they’re afraid,” Reid said.

The slave labor prison camps played a critical role in propping up the failed socialistic economy in the old Soviet Union. Because the current US economy is a form of fascistic socialism (private ownership but total government control of all activity) small businessmen (as opposed to the protected crony mega corporations) believe they would go out of business without illegal aliens who work for substandard wages. Thus illegal aliens are very much like Stalin's slave laborers propping up a failing economy. Apparently this is what Harry Reid dimly perceives as the importance of illegal alien workers.
The prosperity created by a legitimate free enterprise economy would make illegal alien employees unnecessary to sustain a small business. Small businessmen would have a profit margin that would allow them to pay higher standard wages. They would not have to choose between bankruptcy and hiring semi slave laborers. The lure of hiring cheap illegal aliens is a symptom of the damage done to our economy by socialistic policies.
This, of course, excludes the businessmen who are simply greedy and want the cheapest labor possible.

They are still playing that same 11 million illegal alien number from 2008 or so. We have documented that many *new* illegal aliens have NOT been deported and few illegal aliens have received true deportation. IF that 11 million number was real in 2008 (which we all know it was much higher) it would easily be 16-18 million today.

Illegal aliens and excess legal immigrants are bankrupting the US economy. There's no improvement or benefit to our economy from the presence of these people. Anyone who claims there is some upside to it are either morons or liars. Importing people who have no jobs or money simply transfers jobs and money from Americans to the aliens. How does stealing from American citizens to help illegal aliens or other immigrants benefit any American? Our poor get poorer and the aliens grow the number of poor people in the US with both events increasing the cost of poverty programs and other taxpayer funded programs which increases the budget, deficit and debt, none of which benefits America or Americans in any way, shape or form, it does the opposite by destroying our solvency, self-sufficiency and our dreams for a better life.

Reid and Nevada are controlled by gambling industry, huge hotels and costly restaurants. That is essentially what Nevada is about, those industries employ thousands if not million of illegal aliens to hold costs down or profits up, probably the latter, So, Reid's campaign cash come from where, nearly exclusively from employers of aliens. It is just a factual truth, Reid's stance will never change, not probably any other Nevada's politicians.
