"Anti-immigration Rep. Tancredo"? Why is CNN lying to me?

The AP has released an article by Steven K. Paulson about Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO)'s possible presidential run. It contains one false statement and references a smear. More on that later.

The AP-provided title appears to be "Tom Tancredo eyes White House run", and that's the title under which google news shows it appearing in Seattle Post Intelligencer, Boston Globe, Guardian Unlimited, Times Picayune, philly.com, San Jose Mercury News, The State, Fort Wayne News Sentinel, WaPo, S.F. Chronical, Newsday, and the L.A. Times.

However, CNN and a few others seem to have gotten a bit creative. CNN offers Anti-immigration Rep. Tancredo hints at presidential run, from the Fort Worth Star Telegram comes Immigration foe toys with presidential run, from 9news.com comes Anti-immigration lightning rod Tancredo talking about presidential run, and from Fox23News.com comes an article with that same title

Obviously, Tancredo is not "anti-immigration", nor is he an "immigration foe". That's not just a matter of an opinion, it's a lie.

Now, to the AP story. It starts out with this:

Tom Tancredo has been called a one-trick pony of a politician, a man out of step with his party, a bigot. The Republican congressman vehemently opposes illegal immigration, and he created an uproar last week when he talked about nuking Muslim holy sites.

First, he didn't talk about "nuking", as the transcript shows and as reported by the AP at the time. Perhaps they've just been reading the wrong blogs.

Second, some people call other people all sorts of things, but it's usually best to provide context and backstory when repeating what they say.

Later on in the article we are treated to the thoughts of "Esteban Flores, executive director of the Latino Research and Policy Center in Denver," who:

calls Tancredo a bigot who is trying to use racial division to further his career. He compared Tancredo to George Wallace, the outspoken opponent of desegregation.

"He's preying on peoples' fears, which is the worst way to build public trust," Flores said.

That Center is associated with the University of Colorado at Denver. Here's Flores trying to get a $250,000 donation to non-profits out of the Denver Nuggets over a comment their coach made. Here's a search for their name. If you find anything at any of those pages that is not just oriented towards people of their own race, let me know.

Why is CNN lying about Tancredo?

That's the way they think, perhaps?

If you are against illegal immigration, then in their minds you are against immigration and immigrants and diversity and you are a bigot and a racist.

Isn't that the theme of the enemy?

Isn't that how they've made a race when there isn't one? Isn't that how they've taken over the country? Isn't that the tool of how they plan to intimidate the American People into contracting their nation out of existence?

Obviously, MSM which includes CNN has subscribed to this "tactic" to defeat US and Tancredo and "hail the alien invasion". More people, more cable TV sales.

Isn't CNN owned by AOL Time Warner? Oh yes, I believe they are.

Isn't AOL Time Warner on the FUNDERS LIST FOR NATIONAL COUNCIL OF LA RAZA? Oh yes, they are.

CNN = AOL TIME WARNER = OBL.

Please someone correct me if I am mistaken on this. But it is my understanding that CNN is owned by Time Warner which merged with AOL.

At least this is one explanation for the "false spin" they are putting on Tancredo and now that I think about it explains by National Council of La Raza is always on the Lou Dobbs show.

Heh, heh, heh! An obvious preemptive strike by some seriously worried opponents (both ideological and political). They KNOW if they dont smear him early...and often, Tom Tancredo is very likely to steal their traitorous agenda. Not only steal it, but give it back to the the American citizens, where it belongs.

We must make sure that these sell-outs find this endeavor a tough row to hoe.

Americans need to know "illegal aliens" are not "immigrants" and the Statue of Liberty is not an "immigration policy," the Constitution or the "law of the land" -- the Statue of Liberty was "The Gift of France to the United States." Freedom isn't free and freedom in America wasn't the "gift" of England or the world to the United States -- hundreds of thousands of Americans have fought in wars for our right to be and stay free.
