Halt on immigration raids urged to ensure accurate census count

    The Associated Press
    Tucson, Arizona | Published: 03.30.2009

WASHINGTON β€” New Commerce Secretary Gary Locke exhorted census volunteers to boost outreach in hard-to-count communities as a top lawmaker urged the government to halt immigration raids to ensure an accurate count.

Speaking at a Census Bureau training conference Monday, Locke and Rep. William Lacy Clay, D-Mo., tried to allay fears in Hispanic and Asian communities where immigrants often mistake census workers for tax collectors or law enforcement officials.

We should not count illegals Why not divide the 12 million illegal immigrants into the 3,000 districts evenly? This is the reason Congress fights for illegals to keep their seats in their district by the numbers game.

This is the Mother of all Conflicts of Interest. These Representatives are supposed to represent the citizenry of their districts.....yet they openly welcome illegal residents to retain their status?

I believe we should count the illegals. We need to know how many are here. HOWEVER they should NOT be included in the count that decides the House seats.

Why is the COCA-COLA COMPANY a "Partnership Organization" in the United States Census, a function of the United States government?

Oh, perhaps because they have built bottling plants all over Latin America (and the rest of the world) since the end of WWII and are one of the original "multi-national" corporations?

And now one of their former executive in Mexico (and its last President),Vicente Fox, is back in the United States calling for formation of a North American (economic) union.

    What an interesting coincidence!

I believe Coca-Cola makes their syrup in China??? And then they ship it to America. And I think I read somewhere recently that the cola businesses are buying up water right around the world. Wonder how many immigrants the Cola companies are bringing into our country?

This is outrageous! They are not supposed to be here in the first place and therefore should NOT be counted in the Census!
