State Dept: Troops will not be used to stop aliens from crossing border

We knew it, we told you about it yesterday, and now US officials have admitted it. http://www.gopusa.com/theloft/2010/05/o ... k-jobs.php

From AFP....US border policy comes straight out of Mexico. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id ... _article=1

US National Guard troops being sent to the Mexican border will be used to stem the flow of guns and drugs across the frontier and not to enforce US immigration laws, the State Department said Wednesday.

The clarification came after the Mexican government urged Washington not to use the additional troops to go after illegal immigrants.

President Barack Obama on Tuesday authorized the deployment of up to 1,200 additional troops to border areas but State Department spokesman Philip Crowley told reporters, "It's not about immigration."

No, it's not about immigration. It SHOULD be about an illegal invasion across the southern border but it's not about that either. It's about appeasing a foreign leader and bringing in millions more Democrat votes.

    From Reuters... http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6 ... me=topNews

"This isn't a militarization of the border. In fact the overall share of the military is still relatively small," Pascual told correspondents at the U.S. embassy in Mexico City.

He said with the 300 National Guard troops already stationed at the border, the total number would not surpass 1,500.

"I think it is important that we continue to reinforce in our strategy that we are putting civilian law enforcement agencies out front and that they have the lead," he said.

The troops, rather than carrying out operations to dismantle drug cartels or human smuggling rings, will be working in back offices helping intelligence officials process information, or be posted as lookouts between ports of entry.

If you think it's just Mexican nationals coming to pick our tomatoes, watch this.
