Deportation Could Occur if Two Local Men are Found Guilty of Traffic Infractions
Deportation Could Occur if Two Local Men are Found Guilty of Traffic Related Infractions
Published: May 19, 2013
An Antioch man arrested for driving on a suspended license and a Murfreesboro man charged with DUI are looking at the possibility of being deported after being arrested on Sunday in Rutherford County. Both men, who are in their early twenties, are being held on what is called an “I.C.E. Detainer” in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. Because of the detainer, the men will not be allowed to post a bond in order to get out of jail prior to their court appearance date.
An ICE detainer is a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement “detainer.” An immigration detainer is a notice that the Department of Homeland Security issues to federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to inform them that the immigration enforcement agency intends to assume custody of an individual that is currently in local law enforcement’s custody.
According to the immigration enforcement service, detainers are critical for ICE to be able to identify and ultimately remove criminal aliens who are currently in federal, state or local custody.

Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.
