Arizona Declares Whooping Cough Outbreak
They don't say why but I am sure we can figure this out.
PHOENIX - The Arizona Department of Health Services has declared a statewide outbreak of whooping cough and has requested money to buy booster vaccines and antibiotics to fight the contagious disease.

Gov. Janet Napolitano was expected to sign an executive order to release $500,000 from Arizona's health-crisis fund to buy about 10,000 doses of a vaccine and 2,000 doses of antibiotics to be given to adolescents.
In addition, health officials are recommending that pediatricians accelerate the pertussis vaccination schedule for infants by at least two weeks. The new schedule calls for shots at six weeks, 10 weeks and 14 weeks of age.
The bacterial disease can be lethal in small infants and recently led to the death of a 19-day-old baby in Maricopa County.
"We're seeing an unusually high number of infants with lab-confirmed cases of pertussis," said Will Humble, bureau chief for epidemiology and disease control at the Arizona Department of Health Services.
Because older children and adults often aren't treated for the disease, Humble said he thinks the number of reported cases is "artificially low."
The health department received reports of at least 295 confirmed cases of whooping cough in the counties of Maricopa, Pima, Gila and Pinal.
The disease is characterized by a prolonged and worsening cough that can result in broken ribs and vomiting. Individuals who contract the disease are best treated with antibiotics within the first two weeks of symptoms.
Babies under six months of age face a 1 in 200 chance of dying from whooping cough after exposure, said Dr. Karen Lewis, medical director for the health department's bureau of epidemiology and disease control. Infants who have received three doses of the pertussis vaccine are 85 percent protected against the disease, she said.

This is one of the HUGE reasons for so much illegal aliens coming here illegally. There is NO health screening. ANYONE can walk the border. People with TB, leprosy, or even worse will NOT be admitted legally, however, they feel they have a "right" to simply walk into this country.
Yes, a large majority ARE not sick, but the problem is, we can not distingish WHO they are, let along distingish ANYTHING at all about the fence jumpers!

Better yet do what I do carry a bottle of Antisptic Bio-Hand Cleaner in your car like the EMS personnel use. It's cheap and works well

Sorry, ya'll but I can't help feeling that is the only way we will ever win this fight. And it is a fight. It just hasn't come to fisticuffs as of yet.
