How do readers view coverage of the Arizona immigration law?

02:06 PM

Last month, USA Today and On Deadline joined forces with NewsTrust, an independent, non-profit news agency, for a two-week project examining media coverage of Arizona's controversial immigration law.

The project asked readers to scour the Internet for stories on the subject and also to evaluate the coverage.

After two weeks, NewsHunt has now published its report on the exercise, listing -- among other things -- stories that reviewers thought were the best and the worst.

It found, for example, that most reviewers appreciated a particular column in The Economist that they felt cut through the rhetoric surrounding the volatile issue.

Click here for the in-depth results of the two-week NewsHunt.

We think it was a valuable exercise and were pleased that the project generated thousands of visits from our readers and prompted hundreds of you to actively participate in hunting for and rating almost 200 stories.
