Arpaio tweets meeting with Vice President Biden

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said this morning that he met with Vice President Joe Biden.

Arpaio announced the meeting through his Twitter account Monday morning. He later told the Phoenix Business Journal he had discussed the need for more deputies and resources during a brief meeting with Biden.

Biden is in Phoenix to help raise campaign funds for U.S. Reps. Harry Mitchell of Tempe and Ann Kirkpatrick of Flagstaff. Both are Democrats serving in swing districts that could be targeted by Republicans in 2010.

Biden also is promoting the $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act during his Valley visit.

Arpaio has been battling the Obama administration over his immigration raids and use of a 287(g) agreement with the federal government. The administration and U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano amended that agreement with Arpaio earlier this year to allow the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office to arrest illegal immigrants on federal immigration charges only after they are booked into county jail on other charges.

Previously, Arpaio used the 287(g) agreement to arrest illegal immigrants in the field. The sheriff has continued to make such arrests citing state law against human smuggling and the hiring of undocumented workers.

I'm sure he is talking about Arpaio talking to the idiot Biden At least thats how I took the remark. Biden is the only idiot I see in that conversation
