Authorities Bust Document Fraud Ring

GUATEMALA -Federal authorities say they busted up a document fraud ring based in Guatemala.

They arrested the alleged ringleader, 25-year-old Gilder Gustavo Garcia Cuyuch three days ago. Cuyuch was operating out of a travel agency in Guatemala. U.S. and Guatemalan officials seized around 400 fraudulent Guatemalan passports. They also found printing and computer equipment, suspected of being used to make the documents.

Federal authorities say they started their investigation two months ago. Authorities say they intercepted someone planning to travel to the U.S. with an altered Guatemalan passport
