AZ - 58 undocumented immigrants arrested in last 2 days

YUMA, Ariz. – Fifty-eight undocumented immigrants were arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents between Thursday night and Friday morning.
Agents say out of the 58 suspects 21 of them were caught trying to smuggle 843 pounds of marijuana into the U.S. The men were from Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala.
Three men were also found hiding in the truck of a car as they tried to get past the immigration checkpoint on Interstate 8. The driver of the car, a U.S. citizen, will be prosecuted for felony alien smuggling, according to agents.
Agents say another two men were arrested for re-entering the country illegally. The men were found with 218 pounds of pot. The two suspects were previously deported and were in violation of their supervised release, according to agents. They will be taken back to prison to complete their sentences.
Lastly agents found 164 pounds of marijuana abandoned Thursday morning.
Agent say all drugs were seized and all suspects will be submitted for prosecution.
