YUMA - Lots of cocaine worth a big wad of money has been recovered in western Arizona.

Federal border agents working a Highway 95 checkpoint Monday north of Yuma recovered 43 pounds of cocaine worth an estimated $1.4 million.

Authorities say a vehicle driven by a Somerton man pulled up to the desert checkpoint. A drug-sniffing dog led agents to a hidden compartment in the vehicle. Agents found it packed with 18 bundles of cocaine.

The suspect, Jose Jhonathon Rivera, was arrested. His vehicle and the drugs were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for processing.
