The agents and Douglas police made the discovery after getting a tip about a possible stash house.

When authorities arrived, they discovered the undocumented immigrants trying to hide themselves by lying on the floor.

All were identified as Mexican citizens.

They were arrested and transported to the Douglas Border Patrol Station for further processing.

The cooperation between border agents and Douglas Police officers is part of Operation Stonegarden.

The federally-funded program enhances cooperation between the U.S. Border Patrol and other federal, tribal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

This year, Operation Stonegarden is providing nearly $10 million to 23 agencies in Southern Arizona.

Agents say the increased interagency cooperation leads to reducing crime and improving of the quality of life in the border communities.
