Border patrol watch: 24 hours in the Tucson Sector

The following is a roundup of US Customs and Border Patrol activity for the past 24 hours:

Significant Arrests

(DOUGLAS) Border Patrol Agents from the Douglas Station arrested a male Mexican national Tuesday, west of Douglas on suspicion of having sex with a minor.

When agents ran his fingerprint information, they found the man had been arrested for sexual intercourse with a Minor, Rape by Force/Fear, and Sodomy with a Person under 18. Agents are holding the suspect for further processing.

Human Remains Found

(TUCSON) Border Patrol Agents from the Tucson Station discovered human remains Tuesday near Kings Anvil Ranch.

Agents could not determine gender due to the decomposed state of the body and a lack of any identification. The scene was turned over to the Pima County Sheriff's Office.

From Oct. 1, 2008, through Aug. 31, 2009, Border Patrol Agents have rescued more than 500 people from the Sonoran Desert; many of whom sustained injuries while attempting illegal entry into the United States.
