Second Thoughts on Pulling the Guard From the Border
By RANDAL C. ARCHIBOLD
NOGALES, Ariz. — Swooping low over the Mexican border in her Blackhawk helicopter, Chief Warrant Officer Christina Engh-Schappert of the Virginia National Guard spots ... nothing. No sign of the migrants who would congregate in the washes for the mad dash to the United States. No clusters of people hiding in the bushes. Nobody in the throes of dehydration and heat exhaustion.

How is it that the Bush administration can justify the costs for 140,00 troops in Iraq, but won't allow 6,000 at our border?
How can he justify 25,000 troops at Korea's border while leaving ours largely unguarded by military personnel?
How can he justify placing military personnel in 130 different countries, all while we're being invaded right here at home?
How is it that the endless delays usually experienced by a removal aren't happening here? They're prepared to pull out right on time???
Also, why is there SO MUCH media coverage about the pull out? Should we just broadcast it in Mexico while we're at it, "HEY ALL, THE BORDER IS OPEN AGAIN!"
Seriously, how can that get so much coverage while illegal immigrant crimes garner no attention whatsoever?
I was just in Ontario last week. It was so nice that I might consider moving there...
We must push through early Thurs at this critical moment
