Sheriff arrests 18 more illegal aliens

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office arrested 18 suspected illegal aliens Monday night.

The sheriff's office said the immigrants from Mexico and Guatemala were crowded into a Ford F-150 pickup truck with a camper shell when they were arrested in the north valley. They allegedly paid between $1,000 and $3,000 to get into the country.

"Regardless of the recent public disapproval from local activist groups and some politicians for enforcing illegal immigration laws, I will not be deterred," Sheriff Joe Arpaio said.
