    Babeu blasts Obama deportation plan

FLORENCE, Ariz. -- Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, a leader in the fight against illegal immigration, calls the Obama Administration's new deportation policy "de facto amnesty."

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced Thursday that the department will focus on deporting illegal immigrants who are criminals or pose a threat to national security or public safety. Many of those with no criminal record will be allowed to stay in the country and apply for a work permit. Under the plan, approximately 300,000 deportation cases pending in immigration court -- people who are students, were brought here years ago by their parents or whose work permits have expired -- will be reviewed case-by-case.

Babeu said Obama's plan is the President's way around having to secure the border and that it will encourage more immigrants to enter the United States illegally.

"He's saying, `We're not going to enforce the law, these people can stay,' which basically says they're not accoutable," the sheriff said.

Babeu asked, "If the President was sincere about immigration reform and that was his agenda, why on earth didn't he do it the first two years in office when he had super majorities in the House and Senate?"

He said, "This is a discussion that needs to be taking place with all Americans and not just the president deciding which laws we're going to enforce and which ones we're not when it comes to illegal immigration."

The plan "smacks purely of politics," Babeu said.

"Where does this end? For the President to do this is unacceptable. All it does is encourage this whole debate of walking down the path to amnesty for 12 million people.

"He's coddling to the left, trying to ram amnesty down our throats and to make like we're being un-American if we don't want to just high-five and say, `Oh, well, yeah, let's open the doors to everybody.'"

Babeu agreed with Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer who said, "The plan amounts to backdoor amnesty for hundreds of thousands -- if not millions -- of illegal aliens."

Stop Obama or the states need to take matters into their own hands since individual states have the legal right to protect their citizens and property when the Federal Government is unable or unwilling to do so. Call up the militias again and create departments in each state where the militias will be directed and controlled. If the Feds wil not deport them...pack them on busses and drop them off at the nearest border crossing site. Let BP handle the situation but certainly do NOT let them re-enter the state where they were shipped from. Also states need to make it a FELONY crime to be within the state's borders without being Legally here in the USA and fully documented as well. If the Feds and Supreme Court objec..and that will happen..the state needs to tell them they will stop when the Feds scrap the Obama memo and start to enforce the immigration laws now on the books.
