Customs and Border Protection officers at ports of entry in San Diego and Imperial counties seized more than $5.8 million in drugs and arrested 14 fugitives over the weekend, authorities said.

Friday through Sunday, customs officers confiscated 583 pounds of marijuana, 329 pounds of methamphetamine, 150 pounds of cocaine, 13 pounds of heroin and nearly 10 pounds of fentanyl, officials said.

The narcotics — which combined have a street value of more than $5.8 million — were discovered in car seats, car doors, dashboards, fuel tanks, spare tires, quarter panels and other parts of vehicles, officials said. Officers also found some of the drugs strapped to people at the ports of entry.

The fugitives arrested had outstanding felony warrants for human smuggling, carjacking, robbery and drug-related crimes.
