BCSO: Illegal immigrant arrested on child molestation charges

A man was arrested in Statesboro and charged with child molestation and sexual battery.

On Sunday, a teenage girl told her family that she had been molested by a family member.

Investigators with the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office interviewed the girl and those family members and friends who she told of the abuse.

The incidents were determined to have occurred over four-year period at a home in the 100 block of Bird Road in Statesboro.

Emilio Moguel Silva, 35, was arrested at the Bird Road home and charged with two counts of child molestation and two counts of sexual battery.

He is being held without bond at the Bulloch County Jail.

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement was contacted because Silva is in the U.S. illegally, according to the sheriff's office.
