Illegal Aliens Arrested In Ohio County

Illegal Aliens Arrested In Ohio County

    sep 23, 2007

Police in Wheeling arrest a woman and two men after police said they admitted to officers they were in the country illegally.

Police caught the trio at Wheeling Island Racetrack and Gaming Center on Saturday.

Police said the illegal aliens tried to get into the racetrack with fake identification cards.

Some people, who live in the Ohio Valley, said illegal aliens crossing the U.S. border is an issue that concerns them.

Brandy Burton said she's afraid illegals will take away opportunities for U.S. citizens.

Burton said, "I think it's a problem. It's a real big problem due to jobs and the fact that they work cheaper than us."

Police arrested Roda Raymondo, Diego Perez and Enrique Calel.

    They all remain in jail.

Wheeling is a beautiful city; 2 state parks within 5 miles of downtown. But the area has been in a depressed state with the steel mills closing down. Throw that in with Illegals competing for far less wages and the mole hill becomes a mountain

Police responded at around 8:15 p.m. Saturday to take 38-year-old Cornelio Sanchez into custody.

Police said Sanchez admitted to being in the United States illegally for nine years. He was detained at the regional jail pending notification of immigration officials in Pittsburgh.

Three alleged illegal aliens were arrested last weekend at Wheeling Island Gaming Center.
