    Feedback: Beyond Borders

Saturday, July 23, 2005 - Time to lay down law on illegal immigrants

State and federal legislators take an oath before taking office. I took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States before enlisting and serving during Vietnam.

It was not a popular war but with little choice I took the initiative and enlisted. We don,t get to choose our wars or pick the laws we want to obey.

Assemblymen De La Torie, Dymally, Torrico, state Sen. Nell Soto and their traitorous ilk sicken me with their irresponsible, self-serving attitudes regarding illegal immigration.

They hound the governor when he fearlessly tells the truth. They deplore the Minuteman Project as vigilantes even without one case of abuse to report against them and they probably cheer Vincente Fox as he makes disparaging remarks about Afro-

    American labor.

Any state or federal legislator who can,t remember the existing passages of our U.S. law regarding an alien needs to be removed from office and be replaced.

There is no middle ground. You either get here legally or illegally. Period. Other governments or nationals do not get to decide who comes here, how many or when. We do.

The state Assembly member or senator who tells you different or defends the actions of illegals is a fraud and a liar and doesn,t deserve his public position. They have betrayed the public trust and put the safety of citizens in jeopardy and all for their own personal gain of being re-elected.

The borders, all borders, need to be closed, controlled and restricted to those who have gone through the legal system.

Mr. Bush has nullified any respect or confidence I had in the Republican Party regarding homeland security and immigration. He has sold that security for his friendship with Mexican President Fox, and cheaply.

The Republicans will reap the results of this betrayal in 2008 from conservatives who are already changing their party affiliations from Republican to independent. Moderate Republicans don,t cut it anymore. That dog won,t hunt.

    The issues are these:

    1. Close the borders. Arrest and sentence every law breaker and border runner without exception. Don,t build new jails. Erect tent incarceration camps surrounded by razor wire like that sheriff in Arizona. No television, no dayrooms, no weights; just cots, basic toilet and basic meals.

Two years for a first offense would make anyone think twice about trying for a second conviction and serving five years. Bush,s home state of Texas spends $4 billion annually on illegal immigrants, children. We would offset our meager expenditures for these types of facilities by the savings we could accrue as a nation.

    2. Arrest employers hiring undocumented workers and confiscate their property for repeat offenders.

    3. Cut all social services to undocumented immigrants, including welfare, food stamps, unemployment, workers, compensation, driver,s licenses and registration, health services and hospital services.

    4. Children attending public school must speak English.

    5. Children born in the United States of illegal immigrants are not U.S. citizens. Bank robbers, children do not get to keep the money from their parents, illegal actions.

    6. Only naturalized U.S. citizens are eligible to vote in any type of election in the United States.

    7. Dual citizenship should be made unlawful in this country. You can only swear allegiance to one country. Dual citizenship is a political bigamy.

These are the main issues that liberal Democrats and moderate Republicans will not address. We need statesman, not politicians. We need more people like Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Congressman Tom Tancredo from Colorado who realize the plight that our current policies have put us in and aren,t afraid to look the truth and hard solution in the eye.

Impeach Bush if he doesn,t enforce laws

With regard to the Daily Bulletin series Beyond Borders: Reports by the Minutemen and Border Patrol agents confirm the fact that Mexican army units are routinely operating in the border region.

In fact, they are probably assisting narcotics smugglers, often illegally entering our country, in many cases firing at Border Patrol agents.

With an estimated 20 million illegal aliens in the country, we are in serious trouble.

They are bringing diseases that have long ago been eradicated here and are clogging the health-care system by using emergency rooms for routine treatment.

Our prisons are crammed full with illegal alien criminals and there are dozens of incidents in which Mexican nationals are accused of murder and return to Mexico where officials refuse to extradite them because of our insistence of execution in capital cases, while Mexico does not execute criminals for any crime.

At what point do we recognize that we have surrendered our sovereignty by refusing to enforce our laws at the border?

The "reconquista" is well under way. It,s only a matter of time until Mexicans declare a majority and call for a return of our Southwest states to Mexico.

If we are to survive this onslaught, we must: 1. Seal our border; 2. Crack down on employers who hire illegal aliens; and 3. Ship illegals back to Mexico and other countries.

President Eisenhower sent over a million illegal aliens back to Mexico during one campaign. If President Bush continues to ignore our immigration laws, he should be impeached.
