PA: Montg. County says yes to IA pre-natal care

Contract renewal OK’d for free prenatal care
Program draws criticism for its potential to assist
    illegal aliens

By MARGARET GIBBONS, Times Herald Staff

COURTHOUSE — Montgomery County will continue to help
pregnant illegal aliens give birth to healthy babies.
The county commissioners this week unanimously voted
to renew its contract with the state for funds to
provide free prenatal, delivery and post-delivery care
of low-income, at-risk pregnant women and their
babies. Theoretically, the program is open to all
low-income women without health insurance, said county
human services Director Joseph Roynan. But the reality
is that the great majority of the program’s clients
are illegal aliens because most pregnant uninsured
U.S. citizens qualify for other programs that provide
them with the same services, according to Roynan.
Advertisement While the county in the past has come
under fire by those who believe that all illegal
aliens should be deported, the commissioners make no
apologies for the county’s continued participation in
the program. “Think the word is out south of the
border that there is free prenatal care in Norristown
so we should head up there?â€

    convoluted logic

"It just makes financial sense to care for the mothers during their pregnancies to ensure the safe birth of healthy babies rather than spend hundreds of thousands of dollars later to provide care for children with problems that could have been prevented with a healthy pregnancy".

Not quite as much sense, financial or otherwise, as directing them to return home to south of the border.
It may surprise the county board to discover that the health of their county, its citizens and the health of America is more profoundly harmed by their decision than by sending a message for the illegals to go home.

Where the IA's get their "health care info" in Phi

for Matthews benefit, here's just one of the many IA advocacy organizations that provide illegal aliens with health care information and how to obtain free services .... it also happens to be one of the largest National Council of La RAZA affiliates in the country and receives about 90% of its funding through public funding.....

Congreso is a nationally recognized, community based non-profit organization that primarily serves the neighborhoods of Eastern North Philadelphia where the majority of the city's Latino population resides. This area is a culturally vibrant community challenged by issues of poverty, access to health care, low educational attainment and unemployment. Founded in 1977 as a grassroots organization providing health services to the region's Puerto Rican community, Congreso has responded to the community's changing demographics and evolving needs for more than 30 years by growing into a multifaceted, comprehensive provider of human services.

Congreso's mission is to strengthen Latino communities through social, economic, education, and health services; leadership development; and advocacy.

Also, Matthews should know that Saint Patrick's Catholic church in Norristown has a very leftist activist priest who disseminates lots of this type of assistance and info. to its mostly ilelgal alien Mexican parish. In fact this church went so far to host the SEIU in recruiting its' illegal alien parishioners into the union as many of them work as janitors in high rise buildings in Philadelphia. St. Pat's has hosted the Mexican Consulate in issuing matriculas. Matthews is either very uninformed, naive or stupid.
